It was my first time to the state of Indiana and I had no idea what to expect. Fortunately, my parents have friends in Fort Wayne, who happened to be the friendliest couple in the entire world. They were willing to pick me up and drop me off anywhere within an hour radius, which means between Karen and Dick, and her sister, Cheryl, who also hosted me, I only had a couple nights in need of a place to stay. One of those nights being in Valparaiso, where I stayed at the Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity house! I knew all of that hazing was worth it! My parents drove to meet me in Fort Wayne and we went to another one of their friend's lake house for the weekend. We had some nice weather, but almost every other day throughout Indiana was rainy and miserable...I'm talkin' tornado siren sounding and 70 mph winds! Anyways, I had a great time, and it was really good to get off the road for a while. My good friend Elle, from the yachting industry grew up in Fort Wayne and her family still lives here, so I got to meet them. Elle's dad is the fire chief and told the guys at the fire station that I'd be coming by, so I was well fed and registered six of them to the BeTheMatch registry! Great group of people! (Photo below) Pictured above are Amish, quite the large population in Indiana, but not as large as in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Body and mind are doing well, just fighting boredom and looking forward to Chicago!
